A man was hit near Skylar McCrea’s ranch the day before
she found a leather jacket with the initials JBC inside. She planned to call her friend the sheriff but forgot until it was
too late. When she talked to Dr. Green, the attending physician, she was told the man did not know who he was and he had no
identification. During the next few weeks, she began visiting the man the nurses had named Duke Green—Duke because he
was dressed like a cowboy and green because of his eyes.
Skylar felt the Lord was telling her to invite him to her ranch until he recovered his memory. With
a broken leg and the opposite arm also in a cast, there was not much he could do to take care of himself. With no money and
no obvious means of support, his options for taking care of himself alone were severely limited.
The writing team known as Kasandra Elaine certainly penned
an unusual and emotional book. The plot was interesting and intriguing. The characters were many and varied but were all worked
together to explain this storyline in a concise, poignant way that had me reading straight through to the end. The story was
exciting and expressive. The commitment Skylar had toward Duke was sweet and sensitive. The two of them felt a stirring when
they were together. However, knowing the circumstances forbad anything happening.
These conditions could make the writing of this book complicated. The fact
that this book was written by a team is amazing. There are no obvious disconnections in the writing of this marvelous story.
The story moved from place to place often and covered the occupants of the car that hit Duke, his family who were looking
for him, others who could not find him, and Skylar’s friends who were trying to help him. The ending was a surprise,
but not a disappointment.
I
really enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading a sweet romance with a little mystery
included.
